Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here Friday that the kidnapping of four Iranian diplomats in Lebanon is a dark stain in record of the terrorist groups being affiliated to the Zionist regime of Israel.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with IRNA, Mottaki said Iran's diplomatic apparatus has during long years of the diplomats' captivity launched extensive efforts both in the region, especially in Lebanon, and the UN for their release and the efforts will continue until receiving a report about them.
Condemning such an "organized" measure of the Zionist Regime, Mottaki said different human rights organizations, the
Non-Governmental Organizations and the media following up the Middle East issues are hoped to follow up the issue and obtain an information about the Iranians.
Mottaki made the remarks on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of abduction of the four diplomats, including Iranian then Charge D'affaires Mohsen Mousavi, Diplomat Taghi Rastegar Moqaddam, Military Attache' Ahmad Motevasselian and IRNA Photo Journalist Kazem Akhavan.
They were kidnapped by Falange militiamen, who were pawn of Israel, en route from a mission in north of Lebanon to Iran on July 4, 1982.
According to information, the diplomats are in custody of the usurper regime in Palestinian occupied lands.
Israel has agreed to provide a report on details of abducting the Iranian diplomats within the framework of exchange of prisoners with the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Elsewhere in the interview, Mottaki harshly criticized the US congress for its attempt to include in the list of the terrorist organizations certain independent media which refuse to act in line with regional policies of Israel and Washington.
Per a plan offered to the US congress, majority of
independent TV channels, such as Alalam, Alminar, Alrafedain, al-Aqsa and Alzovar, in the list of terrorist organizations.
Mottaki was in New York to attend the high-level meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) which would end on July 3.
