Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Wednesday night that national unity will help Iranians maintain the Islamic Revolution in the face of domestic and foreign threats.

Rafsanjani said, "In the current critical situation in the world, all of us should try to show our accountability before Almighty God." Pointing to discord and difference as deadly poison for social unity, he added that as a matter of fact, thinkers, the elite and people should make efforts to leave behind critical periods.
