Iran-Nuclear-Boroujerdi
Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Saturday that the western countries are not trustable and "We should produce the required nuclear fuel for our power-plants in the country." Boroujerdi made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Indonesian Majlis representative Sharif Hassan on Saturday.
The western countries in the past never remained committed to their pledges with regards to nuclear pacts, Boroujerdi said.
Referring to the US security package with Iraq, he said the security pact runs counter to the interests of Iraqi people as well as the whole region and there is no doubt that the Iraqi
parliamentarians will never burden such humiliating agreement.
According to the News and Press Bureau of Majlis, at the meeting, Boroujerdi referred to the existing good political, parliamentary and economic relations between Iran and Indonesia and said the two sides political leaders are determined to broaden relations between the two countries as both sides enjoy very close and sometimes identical stands at regional and international developments.
Boroujerdi also highlighted the significant role of energy in economic and political developments worldwide.
Referring to regional developments and the crisis created by the US in Iraq and Afghanistan, he said Iraq and Afghanistan as two Islamic countries never welcome presence of US forces or aliens.
People in Afghanistan and Iraq as two Muslim nations never let continued presence of aliens harm their independence as well as their territorial integrity, he said.
The Indonesian envoy, for his part, expressed satisfaction with expansion of all-out relations between the two countries and said Indonesia calls for further expansion of economic, political and parliamentary relations between Iran and Indonesia.
Referring to signing of MoU's on oil cooperation between the two countries, he said since his country is in dire need of energy, Jakarta has called for swift implementation of MoU's signed between the two sides.
Indonesia strongly supports Iran's peaceful nuclear technology, he said adding that his country needs such a clean energy.
Indonesia welcomes Iran's invaluable experiences in the nuclear technology, he said.
