Iran's prosecutor general said in a conference in Seoul, capital of South Korea, that expansion of bilateral and regional cooperation in the fields of security and judiciary will promote security in the region of Asia and Pacific.

In the 5th Conference of International Association of Prosecutors in the region of Asia and Pacific, Ayatollah Dorri Najafabadi said, "Creation of a secure and corruption free region depends on cooperation between governments and prosecutors of the region." According to the report of Prosecutor General Office here on Friday, the ayatollah said, "Nowadays, the issue of security goes beyond the national borders, so participation and unity of countries of the region in common problems such as the environment protection, politics, social and security affairs, exchanging experiences and information to increase the ability for confrontation with crises can create a powerful block in the region.

He continued, "Cooperation and participation in fighting against drugs, human trafficking, money laundering, organized crimes, corruption and prostitution bands, supporting oppressed people of the region like Palestinians, Gaza Strip crisis, Iraq and Afghanistan occupation are among issues which can make unity between countries of the region."
Dorri Najafabadi pointed out, "Iran's Judiciary system is trying to create a healthy atmosphere free of corruption to transfer country's concentrated economy to a dynamic and competitive one with participation of the private sector of Iran."
Establishment of Public Prosecutor's Office, specialized court to fight economic corruption, supporting useful and healthy investments and special law concerning money laundering are among Iran's Judicial efforts to fight with any kind of economic corruption, Dorri Najafabadi said.

He concluded, "Establishment of a committee to fight against corruption in the highest level of chiefs of the three branches of government upon a decree by the Supreme Leader, joining the UN Convention for fight against corruption, cooperation with other countries in this concern are among other efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
