Iran, South Korea to boost legal, judicial cooperation

Prosecutor General of Iran Ayatollah Qorban- Ali Dorri-Najafabadi in Seoul on Wednesday called for promoting Iran-South Korea legal and judicial cooperation.


He arrived in South Korean capital on June 9 to attend the 5th Regional Conference of Asia/Pacific Countries Prosecutors General which started on June 8.

Dorri-Najafabadi made the remarks in a meeting with his South Korean counterpart, Lim Chai Jin.

According to a statement released by Iran's Embassy in Seoul, Dorri Najafabadi referred to Iran and South Korea as two powerful countries in the west and east of Asia.

Dorri-Najafabadi added that Tehran and Seoul could take strategic steps towards cooperation particularly on legal and judicial matters.

He also called on Seoul to take necessary measures to provide better judicial services for Iranian nationals living in South Korea.

The Iranian prosecutor general also invited his South Korean counterpart to pay a visit to Iran in the near future.

Welcoming Dorri-Najafabadi's invitation, the South Korean official voiced Seoul's readiness to share its experience with Tehran in the anti-drug campaign.
