Provisional Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani emphasized here Friday Iran will not yield to any type of oppression, or double-standard regarding its absolute nuclear rights.

Expediency Council Chairman, who was addressing thousands of Tehrani worshipers at central campus of Tehran University, said in his second sermon, "It seems as though they are not going to abandon taking advantage of the remote probability of Iran's access to nuclear weapons, in order to deprive us of our natural and absolute right to master the nuclear sciences."
He said, "Iran will by no means yield to such double-standards and oppression."
According to IRNA Political Desk reporter, Tehran Friday preacher this week reiterated, "This is typically the oppression they observe in dealing with the scientific works conducted in the Third World countries. But who has entitled them the right to monopolize most advanced technologies, such as the nuclear technology?"
Rafsanjani said, "What is the logic behind this historic oppression? Is it merely because they enjoy the veto right at the UN Security Council that they entitle themselves such irrational rights? Is this not the jungle law? Do they also call themselves
civilized nations?"
Hashemi Rafsanjani reiterated, "Iran proved during the course of the clashes it had with Saddam's regime it is not the type to take advantage of unconventional and illegitimate weapons. They bombarded us with chemical weapons for years. Even today, each day we read the news of a chemical weapon victim with the passage of each new day in Iranian papers.

He added, "Our people are still suffering after the passage of so many years. Iran, too, could have taken revenge resorting to the same method, but it didn't, because it did not wish the Iraqi civilians to suffer for the mistakes made by their political leaders."
The Head of Iran's Leadership Experts Assembly said, "One of the incentives they used to encourage us to yield to the UN resolution to end the war sooner was that the global oppression has given Saddam the green light to attack the entire Iran using chemical bombs, knowing we were not the type to get engaged in a chemical race, due to our beliefs."
He added, "We are Muslims, and therefore, we do not rely on aggressive moves, or brutality, as we have not done so in the past, and will not do so in the future."
Hashemi Rafsanjani added, "It is easy to prove that the majority of the problems in the world today are due to the West's resorting to the logic of military power.

He said, "If we wish to choose the right path, we need to abandon the logic of power and to end oppression. We need to enter talks with the other sides from equal stands. On that day, the world would be safe and free from tensions, and God willing, the wise, particularly the wise in the West -- the cradle of double standards and discrimination -- would heed the root causes of the problems." The interim Friday Prayer leader of Tehran elsewhere in his second sermon referred to the 60th anniversary of the end of the World War II, arguing, "The WWII should have been a good lesson for the mankind. Let us not forget that individuals such as Adolf Hitler led the world towards the devastating war that claimed the lives of at least 40 million human beings and left countless others as war disabled victims."
Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani added, "With the passage of 60 years the reigning spirit over the superpowers in today's world leads us to draw conclusion that they have not taken appropriate lessons form that war, since they trespass the barriers of humanity and civilized social life at times."
He said, "proper care should therefore be taken not to let the mankind face more international catastrophes due to such inappropriate conduct of certain world powers."
