Majlis Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel said on Sunday that the bullying powers such as the US are now seeking to dominate the whole world.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Third Festival on Green Development, he said the western powers and the US believe that they should be master of the world and no country is allowed to take any action without their permission.

These powers by relying on their military might and diplomacy have sacrificed the world for their own gains and on this basis colonization of other countries have turned into a normal practice for them.

The US utters beautiful words such as democracy, freedom, human rights and campaign against terrorism and those hearing such words assume that the US is the most responsible country in the world, he said.

The US has so far refused to sign up to the Kyoto Protocol because it fears this would leave negative impacts on its development, Haddad Adel said.

The US has stockpiled numerous nuclear weapons, he said, adding that they have invested hundreds of billions of dollars in its military industries to produce new generation of nuclear weapons.

Referring to the US support for the Zionist regime, he said the US has provided the Zionist regime with nuclear bombs and
sophisticated technology while the regime is not a member of any international treaty or pact.

Iran by relying on its young researchers and scientists has obtained access to nuclear technological know-how for peaceful purposes and has remained committed to IAEA regulations, he said.

When the 16 US intelligence agencies announced that Iran had not made any effort to produce nuclear bombs, the American officials claimed that the country had been engaged in such affairs in the past, Haddad said.

IAEA Chief Mohamed ElBaradei in his report declared that all remaining issues regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear activities have been resolved and the country did not deviate from its peaceful plans, the speaker said.
