Iran-Oman-Mottaki
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi Thursday in Muscat called for further expansion of bilateral relations.
Expressing his satisfaction with the current growing trend of bilateral cooperation, the Omani minister reiterated that exchange of visits between the two countries' senior officials has paved the way for strengthening relations.
As to willingness of the Omani leaders to boost all-out ties with Tehran, he said Muscat is interested in joint investment in the areas of energy, trade and private sector.
Referring to the existing amicable relations between the two nations, Mottaki said the two countries share identical views regarding several regional and world developments.
On great potentials existing in both countries, he called for implementation of the agreement already inked by the two sides.
He further underscored the need for expansion of bilateral energy cooperation and laying gas pipelines between the two states.
Mottaki called for boost in Tehran-Muscat cooperation in the areas of technology, defense, joint investment, mine, trade, and etrochemicals.
The latest developments in Lebanon, Palestine, and Iraq as well as Iran's peaceful nuclear program were among other topics discussed by Mottaki and bin Alawi.
Mottaki arrived in Muscat on Wednesday on a two-day visit. He will proceed to Syria today on a day-long visit.
