Larijani-Preemptive-Barbarism
Iran's Parliament speaker referring to US-led attacks against Iraq and Afghanistan considered "preemptive attacks" as a type of "modern times barbarism".
Ali Larijani added in his address on first anniversary of the Press TV, "Attacking a country relying on predictions that it might do such and such things in the future is not approved in any
international law."
Speaking at Foreign Ministry's Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), he added, "No catastrophe is greater than a country's attack against another having assumed that its security might one day be put at sake by that country."
The Islamic Parliament speaker referred to the miscalculations of the United States and its allies in launching military attacks against Iraq and Afghanistan, reiterating, "They attacked those countries on pretext of campaign against terrorism and establishment of democracy, there but they actually changed the scene of the region."
Larijani referred to the US miscalculation in Afghanistan, arguing, "They initially claimed victory there, but the question is why are they now sitting at negotiation table with Taliban war lords?" He added, "Maybe their new argument is that we have good Taliban, and we also have bad Taliban!"
The Iranian Parliament speaker considered the matter as a "disgrace for NATO", arguing, "We should feel sorry for the West that is not only negotiating with the Taliban today, but is also seeking assistance from them."
Larijani reiterated, "Another original objective of the occupiers of Afghanistan was launching campaign against narcotic drugs trafficking, that has increased six-fold in recent years!" He referred to the occupation of Iraq by the United States and its allies, adding, "They initially claimed they were after constructing a democracy tower in Iraq, whose shade would cast over both Syria and Iran."
The Islamic Parliament speaker pointed out that 700,000 Iraqis have got killed, or been wounded as a result of the US-led attack so far, adding, "Mind your heed the fact that the terrorists enter Iraq through places that are your friends in the region."
He added, "During the first months after the Americans' entry into Iraq they announced that the results of an opinion poll shows that 50% of the Iraqis believe the Americans have come to establish democracy in their country, but today the results of a similar poll shows that less than 3% of the Iraqis still think so."
Larijani referred to the political developments in Lebanon, too, reiterating, "The entire Lebanese nation is aware of the fact that the Americans are the greatest obstacle in the way of the establishment of a national unity government in their country."
He pointed out that the United States is turned into a trouble maker, adventurist government in the region today, reiterating, "Your deeds helped the regional nations come up with the common belief, a shared determination, and a public hatred."
The Islamic Parliament speaker then turned to Iran's peaceful nuclear program, reiterating, "You had assumed if you would cancel the initial fundamentals of agreements with Iran we would retreat from our basic stands, but you noticed that the Iranian nation and government kept on resisting over their righteous stands." Pointing out that the West was basically opposed to Iran's mastering of the nuclear sciences, he said, "In the text of the agreements reached among some European foreign minister with Iran, signed at Sa'dabad Palace Complex, there was talk about a few week suspension, but in practice that suspension lasted for years." Larijani emphasized that Iran has always been committed to sitting at negotiation table, advising the Westerners, "It was you that left the negotiation table, but now you keep repeating that Iran should yield to holding talks."
The Islamic Parliament speaker reiterated, "If it would be deemed as necessary one day, we would publish the documents of our negotiations with the West so that everyone would know what promises the Westerners vowed to keep, which they blatantly broke." He referred to the modality arranged as the framework for Iran's effective cooperation with the IAEA, reiterating, "Under such conditions that the Agency's Director General had announced that the remainder of problems between the two sides had been solved the United States and the West issued another anti-Iranian resolution, generating further mistrust against themselves among the Iranians." He meanwhile said, "Although you issued your third resolution, Iran did not stand still, adopted a new position, and you were faced with new realities."
Iran's former top nuclear negotiator also reviewed the US file before the victory of the Islamic Revolution and during the years of the Iraqi-imposed war, including plotting a coup against Dr.
Mosaddeq's popular government and arming Saddam to the nose, for launching a full scale military attack against Iran as two obvious indices reflecting their erroneous conduct, and two big mistakes of the US statesmen from Iranians' point of the view.
Larijani reiterated, "Misconceptions and clumsy conduct, coupled with lack of proper knowledge about the Iranian culture, and disgracing the Iranians' traditions and civilization by the Americans led the events in the framework of religious intellectualism to severing the US hands off Iran, led by the late Imam Khomeini (P).
He also referred to the anniversary of a US warships's shameful firing of a missile against an Iranian passenger plane, reiterating, They were not even intelligent enough to beg the pardon of the Iranian nation for that goof off, and instead clumsily awarded the commander of that warship a medal of honor!"
