Presidential advisor Mehdi Mostafavi said in Beijing on Sunday that the main cause of current crisis worldwide is separation of science and spirituality.

Addressing a group of Chinese Muslims, Mostafavi said, "Islamic ethics goes along science and wisdom. There will be no crisis if spirituality and science go along each other. The most important reason for crisis in the contemporary era is separation of science and spirituality."
Mostafavi, who is head of the Islamic Cultural and Relations Organization, said the world is today in dire need of ethics and spirituality and enemies of spirituality want to decrease its importance. "We should fill the vacuum using spirituality." He said, "If we are today concerned about people of Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon that's because we are all limbs of the same body."
The Iranian official said regarding ideological commonalties, it is hoped that Iran and China would expand relations in line with interests of the two great Iranian and Chinese nations.

He said there are different religions such as Judaism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism as well as Shiism and Sunni schools of thought in Iran and followers of various religions and schools of thought live a peaceful life along with o ne another and have close ties. "The reason for such close ties is rationality and the spirit of tolerance as are emphasized in Islam because it is the religion of tolerance which recommends friendly relations among all human beings."
He then said Iranian officials are determined to build close relations with the community of Chinese Muslims.

He added that Iran is ready to help China with compilation of textbooks for Chinese Muslims and provide young Muslims with Persian language and Islamic sciences training courses.
