6 Indian soldiers killed in Kashmir attack

In deadliest attack this year militants killed at least half a dozen Indian soldiers and wounded nearly 14 others in the outskirts of Srinagar Saturday afternoon.

Eye-witnesses said they saw an army bus being blown up with a big bang at the busy Narbal crossing, some 15 kms north of here on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Road.

Initial reports said at least six soldiers were killed and more than a dozen wounded, the police said.

According to the police, guerrillas exploded an IED targeting an army convoy adding one of the buses full of soldiers received the brunt of the blast.

The bus was destroyed in the explosion and the death toll may increase, they said.

The blast came after militants exploded a bomb on Srinagar-Jammu highway last evening injuring 22 people.
