While welcoming the reported statements that United States has agreed to have a dialogue with Islamic Republic of Iran on the latter's nuclear program, an Indian religious scholar Friday said Iran is a peace loving country and will not create any problem to any other country.

"We welcome the United States' decision. Iran's nuclear activities are under the limitations granted by the United Nations", said Shahi Imam and Friday Prayer leader of Fatehpuri Masjid at Delhi, Maulana Mufti Mohammed Mukarram Ahmed during his Friday prayer sermon.

He hoped that all parties to resolve Iran's nuclear issue will grasp the current favorable opportunities and step up their efforts, and will demonstrate flexibility to advance dialogue and negotiations to ease the standoff.

"Bush has taken a hard line towards Iran throughout the last seven years but, in the dying days of his administration, it is believed he is keen to have a positive legacy that he can point to," he said.

Suggesting that dialogue is the best solution, he appealed with both countries to think about the peace in the entire world particularly in the Middle East.
