Nearly 900 students have been buried alive and at least 107 people have been killed by an earthquake in China's Sichuan province, Xinhua news agency says.
The students were buried in a secondary school in Juyuan Township, Dujiangyan City, Sichuan, when the 7.8- magnitude tremor struck at 2.29pm (6.28am GMT).
Four children died when two primary schools in Chongqing municipality collapsed.
More than 100 students were injured, including two seriously, it said.
One person was killed when the quake toppled a water tower near the epicentre, 57 miles north west of the city of Chengdu, Xinhua said.
The airport in Chengdu was closed and roads were clogged with traffic after the earthquake.
