Germany-Football-Shapourzadeh
Amir Shapourzadeh hopes to earn a berth on the starting formation of German second division club FSV Frankfurt, the daily Frankfurter Rundschau reported Wednesday.
Shapourzadeh who moved from Hansa Rostock to FSV Frankfurt last month, stressed he was well received by his new team-mates.
He described the overall club atmosphere at the pre-season training camp in the Austrian city of Kaprun as 'good'.
Shapourzadeh's current contract with newly promoted FSV Frankfurt is due to expire in 2010.
The soft-spoken Iranian player had been without a team after relegated first division Bundesliga squad Hansa Rostock refused to renew his deal.
The 25-year-old Iranian international was also linked earlier to second division Bundesliga squads FC St. Pauli and FC Kaiserslautern.
Shapourzadeh who grew up in Hamburg, launched his football career at the amateur division of Bundesliga side Hamburger SV and later joined Hansa Rostock in 2004 as a professional footballer.
The new FSV Frankfurt striker has also had four caps for Iran's national football squad.
