Iran-D8-Meeting
The permanent secretariat of the Group of Eight Developing States (D-8) will be established in future, the Director General of Iran's Economic and International Cooperation Department said on Saturday.
Hadi Soleimani-Pour told IRNA that the permanent secretariat of D-8 will be located in Turkey.
D-8 comprises eight developing Muslim nations namely Iran, Bangladesh, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey and Indonesia.
It was set up in 1997 as an economic alliance with the objective of improving the position of Muslim developing countries in the global world economy through diversification of their economy and creation of new opportunities via increased trade relations.
