Iran and Algeria inked an agreement, worth dlrs 52 million, on construction of gas storage tanks, Iranian Ambassador to Algiers Hossein Abdi Abyaneh said on Wednesday.

As per the agreement, the Islamic Republic of Iran is obliged to construct some gas storage tanks within 14 months and transfer and install them in Djanet region in Algeria.

"This is the first agreement reached between the two countries since 2001," he said.
