Beijing, China, June 2, IRNA

Iran-China-Energy
Iran and China are to boost ties in the field of energy, Iranian Ambassador to China Javad Mansouri said.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Beijing, he said that Tehran and Beijing enjoy age-old relationship, indicating that the bilateral energy ties would increase in the near future.

Referring to the role of China in settling Iran's nuclear case, he underlined that China has played a crucial role in mediating between Iran and the West.

"International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has inspected Iran's nuclear facilities several times, adding they have found no document proving diversion in the peaceful trend of Iranian nuclear activities," he said.

Pointing to the new package of proposals submitted to the Group 5+1, he noted the proposed package contains security, economic and energy related points which are useful hints for solving regional and international problems.

Referring to the recent IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei's report, he stated that it seems that he was under pressure to compile the report.

Pointing to an upcoming visit to Tehran by EU foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, Mansouri noted, "We are waiting for his visit to convey the proposals from the Group 5+1 for Iran."
