Iran-Turkey-Delegation
An Iranian politico-economic delegation arrived here Wednesday to prepare grounds for a scheduled visit by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
According to Turkish official sources, the Iranian president would visit Istanbul next week to hold talks with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul.
The Iranian delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Alireza Sheikh-Attar, plans to hold the first round of talks with Turkish Foreign Ministry's officials on Thursday, Mojtaba Faqihi, an official at Iran's Embassy in Turkey said.
Ahmadinejad and Gul will discuss avenues to bolster bilateral ties and make optimal use of both sides' potentials in the fields of energy and transportation.
The latest regional developments, regional cooperation aimed at fighting against terrorism and illicit drugs and issues of mutual interest will be also reviewed by the two presidents.
