President: Bullying, bad-tempered powers, main problem of world

Tehran, July 23, IRNA

Iran-President-Speech
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Wednesday that the problem of today's world is the "bullying and bad-tempered" powers which are of no use for nations.

"The big problem facing the world today is the bullying and bad- tempered powers that have no benefit for nations and have brought nothing for them but destruction, devastation, insecurity and ailing economy," said President Ahmadinejad in a speech to a group of people in Kushk village in Kohkiloyeh-Boyer Ahmad province on Wednesday.

President Ahmadinejad said telling lies, deception, corruption and injustice are distinctive features of the big powers today.

"Wherever they go, they leave nothing but backwardness and discord among nations," he added.

He referred to the US occupation of Afghanistan under pretext of campaign against terrorism and said, "They (Americans) attacked Afghanistan six years ago under pretext of fighting terrorism and they announced that the strike and occupation had all aimed to save the Afghan nation."
Since occupation of their country, Afghans have not witnessed happiness even for a single day.

"The occupiers bombed even Afghan people's wedding ceremony and announced later that holding such ceremonies is dangerous," said President Ahmadinejad, adding that everyday, massacre of people, insecurity and clashes take place in Afghanistan.

"Once Americans announced that they did not allow smuggling of drugs out of Afghanistan because they felt pity for the youth of the world. Contrary to their false claims, we are today witnessing that poppy cultivation has increased five folds in Afghanistan," he added.

Touching on the US-Iraq security pact, President Ahmadinejad said that fortunately the Iraqi government and nation withstood such an illegitimate demand and turned it down.

As for Iran's nuclear issue, President Ahmadinejad said any talks with Iran on its nuclear problem should be fair and just and free from any threat and tension.
