Tehran, July 15, IRNA

Several Iranian lawmakers on Tuesday objected to the UAE's disrespect for Iranian nationals travelling to that country.

Member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Zohreh Elahian told IRNA on Saturday that the UAE's mistreatment of Iranian passengers at the UAE airport would cost the UAE dearly.

Elahian said Iranian nationals should be respected in all countries.

She said the issue would be followed up and investigated.

"If the problem concerning mistreatment of Iranian passengers and nationals is not solved through dialogue, it can affect negatively bilateral relations," she warned.

Meanwhile, another member of the commission Javad Jahangirzadeh told IRNA that the UAE government should seriously deal with those officers mistreating Iranian nationals at the airport.

Jahangirzadeh said Iranian passengers, who travel to the UAE mostly for business activities, have many profits for the
United Arab Emirates.

As a gate for export of goods to Iran and a place for attraction of capital, the UAE will suffer greatly from illogical behaviors of its officers, he warned.

He said Iran's Embassy in the UAE and Foreign Ministry are duty-bound to take strong and proper action in that connection.

Also, other member of the commission Parviz Sarvari told IRNA that such a kind of treatment will adversely affect bilateral relations.

Sarvari said Foreign Ministry should give necessary warning to the UAE in that connection.
