Iran-Somalia-Ambassador
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday that Somalian intellectuals should help resolve the country's long lasting problems.
According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mottaki made the remark in a meeting the new Somalian Ambassador to Tehran Abdul Rahman Abdul Hossein.
Referring to the country's geographical situation and its ample natural resources, he said this has caused the bullying powers to cast covetous eyes on the country's natural resources which are root cause of crisis and instability in Somalia.
Iran supports the Somalian people and is to render any assistance to resolve the country's problems, Mottaki said.
The new Somalian ambassador, for his part, thanked Iran for its willingness to contribute to solve the problems facing Somalia and said serving in Iran was an honor for him.
He briefed Mottaki on the latest developments in Somalia and said Iran with its glorious ancient civilization is not an ordinary country.
The new Somalian ambassador also submitted a copy of his credentials to Mottaki.
