Iran-China-Hosseini
Any talks between Tehran and the G5+1 about Iran's nuclear issue on the basis of common grounds of their proposed packages will guarantee a win-win play, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official said on Monday.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Mohammad-Ali Hosseini told Chinese Minister of International Department of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee Wang Jiarui that Iran has carefully considered the G5+1 proposed package.
Hosseini said, "We believe both proposed packages of Iran and G5+1 contain common points which can serve as a good basis for the talks. Logic of politics urges us to start talks on common grounds to reach a win-win result."
He added that the Iranian government and nation insist on restoration of their due rights.
"The Iranian government and nation follow up and seek their rights within framework of international treaties," he noted.
He went on to say that Americans claim that Iran is after buying time but explicit answer of Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki to a letter of his counterparts from G5+1 members proved the US claims are baseless.
Wang said for his part that Iran's nuclear problem should be solved through peaceful means.
He told Hosseini that economic relations between Iran and China over recent years has constantly grown and said in 2007, the two sides' trade exchange jumped by 42 percent compared to 2006.
Referring to Iran as a country with rich oil and gas reserves, Wang said China wants to bolster ties and cooperate with the country in the energy sector.
Hosseini who has been in China since Sunday on a two-day visit will leave the country for Tehran late Monday.
