Kuwaiti speaker condemns threats against Iran

Kuwait City, July 14, IRNA

Iran-Kuwait-Nuclear
Speaker of Kuwaiti Majlis al-Umma (National Assembly) Jasem al-Kharafi on Sunday condemned US threats against Iran.

Talking to a Kuwaiti TV channel, he called for settlement of Iran's nuclear dispute through dialogue.

As to Iran's key role in regional developments, he said the Islamic Republic of Iran is a powerful strategic country in the region.

Denouncing the double-standard policy adopted towards Israeli nuclear program, he said that the world reaction is in a way that one thinks that nuclear activities are forbidden for all world countries except Israel.

He underlined the need for resolving Iran's nuclear dispute through negotiations which would respect the country's sovereignty.

On the latest developments in Iraq, al-Kharafi called for more active role by the Islamic Republic to help establish security and stability in that occupied country.
