Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Mohammad Hejazi said that defensive and deterrent wargames code-named Holy Prophet (PBUH) III were fully successful.
According to the Public Relations Department of IRGC, he further added that missile and marine maneuvers were undertaken jointly by the IRGC's Air Force and Navy in fully coordinated manner based on a pre-planned schedule and realized all their objectives.
Commenting on the objectives of the wargames, he also said that evaluating preparedness of the forces and their speed of action in using new tactics and testing weapons and equipment were among the goals of the military exercises.
Holy Prophet (PBUH) III maneuvers held in the Persian Gulf waters demonstrated Iran's all-out preparedness in providing lasting security in the region, he said.
Referring to the recent US and Israel threats to attack Iran, Hejazi further said that IRGC is fully prepared to seriously counter any aggression by the enemies.
"Tactical evolution, technological progress and utilizing modern equipment and, more importantly, designing and employment of completely indigenous tactics in the wargames, have substantially increased the capabilities of IRGC," he said.
"It has also made regional countries gain more confidence in Iran's capability in safeguarding regional security," he noted.
Touching on the features and differences of the wargames from the earlier ones, Hejazi further said that longer range, destruction power and extraordinary precision of missiles as well as the large number of missiles used were among the characteristics of the wargames.
