President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Sunday named Hamid Behbahani as the caretaker of the Ministry of Road and Transportation.

Talking to reporters after a cabinet session, he appreciated great efforts made by the former minister Mohammad Rahmati during his term in office.

He added that the proposed ministers for the ministries of road and transportation and economy and finance will be announced in the due time.

Asked whether such replacement process would continue in the future, the president answered that changes in a 70-million-populated country is an ordinary issue.

Behbahani previously served as deputy minister of road and transportation.
