IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's senior advisor said here Wednesday 2008 Summit of D8 welcomed Iranian leader's proposals aimed at solving global conflicts.
Mojtaba Hashemi Samareh made the comment in an interview with IRNA Political Desk reporter, adding, "The Islamic Republic of Iran's dynamic presence at the meeting had a positive impact and President Ahmadinejad's innovative viewpoints about the international affairs attracted the attention of the high ranking participants." He further reiterated, "The summit unanimously mentioned the incompetence of the currently ruling economic and political systems of the world."
Samareh Hashemi, added, "In economic discussions references were made to expensive foodstuff rates, superficial high rate of fuel and other goods, transferring economic problems of world powers, such as the United States to other countries, decreasing liquidity of countries, and other major global economic challenges of the day.
The President's senior advisor who was among his accompanying delegation at D8 said that the incompetence of the world political ystems was attributed to the interference of hegemonic world powers, such as the United States and Britain in other nations' internal affairs, increased amount of narcotic drugs and nuclear weapons' rafficking, and various threats against different world nations.
Samareh Hashemi reiterated, "Among the conclusions reached at the summit there was the need for closer political and economic cooperation among friend countries that have lots of shared interests."
Focusing on other D8 Summit ratifications, he said, "It was approved during this summit that D8 would be turned into an organization, preferential tariffs would be applied among D8 member states, and the declaration of D8 tourism ministers, formerly drafted in Tehran was ratified by D8 heads of states."
Hashemi Samareh added, "At the closing ceremony of the D8 Summit President Ahmadinejad appreciated the host country's hospitality on behalf of the entire participating countries' leaders."
Informing IRNA about the other issues addressed at the summit, he referred to President Ahmadinejad's "important negotiations" with the prime minister of Malaysia and Bangladesh, the Turkish Foreign Minister, leaders of some Malaysian Islamic parties and groups, as well as the Malaysian capitalists interested in making investments in Iran.
The IRI President's senior advisor also referred to a 70 minute press conference of Ahmadinejad in which our country's viewpoints on major international affairs were reflected once again, and was one of the attractive marginal events of the D8 Summit.
In response to IRNA's question on fruits of the trip and its effects on Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy, Samareh Hashemi said, "President Ahmadinejad, as the highest ranking executive official of the country, elaborated Iran's policies, which are based on demand for prestige, urging for establishment of justice, and resistance against oppression, as well as the need for the oppressor powers' altering of their approaches and moves, which were reflected broadly at world media."
Hashemi samareh expressed certainty that such stands would influence the policy making in east Asian countries, and since the G8 Summit is being convened simultaneously in Tokyo, Japan, they would also influence the international developments.
