Iran-Turkey dyFMs underline expansion of ties

Deputy Foreign Minister Alireza Sheikh Attar in a meeting with his Turkish counterpart here Monday said that both countries officials intend to develop and expand ties in all fields.

Ertugrul Apakan, who is visiting Tehran, discussed mutually interested issues with his Iranian counterpart.

The two sides discussed and exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Sheikh Attar reminded that Tehran-Ankara political, economical, cultural and parliamentary cooperation are growing.

He said that there are great potentials for economic cooperation calling for cooperation in the fields of energy, power transmission networks, solving tariff problems, facilitating investment and establishment of companies for joint investment.

Apakan, for his part, referred to the historical, cultural and geographical commonalties between the two neighbors and pointed out that friendly and brotherly relations exist between the two nations and leaders of the countries.

He welcomed the growth in level of trade between Iran and Turkey and said holding joint economic commission will be effective for boosting trade too.
