Mottaki, Singaporean minister discuss issues of mutual interest

Singapore minister without portfolio in Foreign Affairs Zeinolabedin Rashid conferred with Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Monday.

In the meeting, Mottaki described cooperation of member states of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) in Tehran 'very good' and expressed hope that the Tehran meeting prepares grounds for promoting potentials of the association.

According to Foreign Ministry Media Department, Mottaki said Iran and Singapore have the ability to expand ties in different fields of trade and economics.

The Singaporean Minister, for his part, said, "Singapore welcomes creation of new opportunities for development and promotion of ties with Iran and now is considering different ways of cooperation." Rashid is in Tehran to attend the 8th meeting of foreign ministers of the IOR-ARC.
