Iran-Lebanon-Meet
Islamic Republic of Iran's Cultural Attache to Lebanon here Monday met a former Lebanese Prime Minister and conferred with him on Lebanon's developments and cultural ties.
Hojjatoleslam Mohammad-Hossein Ra'eiszadeh in an interview with IRNA after his meeting wit Salim a-Hoss referred to the results of the meeting, adding, "The former Lebanese Prime Minister believes the United States prefers that the Lebanese political crisis would remain unresolved."
Ra'eiszadeh further quoted al-Hoss as saying, "The ruling group in Beirut, too, following the same political path pursued by Washington, is not inclined towards crisis solving in our country, and proof for this claim is that no serious political will in that direction is observed on their part."
The Iranian Cultural Attache reiterated, "I, too, emphasized during the meeting that Israel would be able to attack Lebanon only under such conditions that factional, tribal, and religious disputes would be surging here, which is a good reason for the Lebanese nation to focus their entire efforts not to fall prey to such plots." He expressed hope that the Lebanese elites would contribute to crisis solving in their own country, arguing, "That is because a grassroot solution to the Lebanese crisis needs to be sought inside Lebanon, not one imported from abroad."
On cultural cooperation, too, Ra'eiszadeh said, "I told Mr.
al-Hoss that the audience of the IRI Cultural Attache in Lebanon include the Lebanese from all walks of life and the entire Lebanese ethnic groups, which is due to the fact that the major policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is truly standing by the side of the Lebanese nation under every condition."
According to the Iranian cultural official in Lebanon, Salim al-Hoss, too, during the meeting appreciated efforts made by the IRI Cultural Attache, particularly the programs sponsored by that attache during the annual Islamic Unity Week, marking the glorious birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet of Islam (P).
