Innovation, prosperity should enter art: Shamaqdari

Tehran, Aug 6, IRNA

Iran-Arts Prosperity
Presidential advisor for cultural affairs Javad Shamaqdari in a statement underlined the introduction of innovation and prosperity in the field of art.

According to IRNA, part of the statement reads: Perhaps art is the biggest sector to need these notions, especially during the third decade since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution when art could not attain its due status.

Today, Islamic Revolution's art needs to undergo a dramtic change, he said.

Artist focusing on Islamic Revolution should be pious, committed and believer in God, or else he/she will not be able to create a work befitting Islamic Revolution, he said.

"Today, the need for a Muslim, pious, committed and
justice-seeking artist is felt more strongly than every other time," he said, adding that artistic management which is part of cultural management should undergo basic changes.

Nurturing a cultural manager differs from the same in other fields and it may contrast military management, he said, adding that in cultural management, the affairs do not revolve on issuing orders; rather, what matters in the area is capturing hearts and creating a sense of sympathy and mutual understanding, Shamaqdari said.
