Stage director calls to support Persian Gulf artworks

Tehran, Aug 6, IRNA

Iran-Persian Gulf Artworks
Noted stage director said that Persian Gulf is the spiritual heritage of the country and people should support artists whose works feature the huge waterway.

Speaking to IRNA, Pari Saberi further stated that the Persian Gulf has been called so since ancient times and will keep the same name for ever.

Currently, Shams Music Group is performing a concert titled 'Persian Gulf' which objects to the distortion of its name and all the people and entities should support this national move, she said.

Noting that the group was not allowed to perform the work in Turkey, Saberi, director of the theater 'Flying Shams' further said that Molana Jalaleddin Rumi composed all his poems in Persian language and was born in Balkh, currently situated in Afghanistan, but due to the negligence of officials, the Turks are out to attribute the great poet to themselves.

"If we remain silent about the distortion of Persian Gulf's name, it will suffer the same fate as Molana did," she warned.

Shams Music Band conducted by Keikhosrow Pournazeri will perform a concert featuring the Persian Gulf in Sa'dabad Cultural Complex from August 13 to 16 to the accompaniment of Muslim instrumentalists from other countries.

The concert will be held in two sections, the first of which is to feature poems by Molana.
