Bayern Munich coach Juergen Klinsmann is aiming for a long-term cooperation with the German record Bundesliga champs, the weekly kicker sports magazine said in a report to hit the newsstands on Friday.

He hailed the "great chance" at Bayern to play a major part within the Bavarian club.

"I hope, I can be at Bayern for many years. However, it also depends on my success, team leadership and fans," the former German national football team coach was quoted saying.

The 43-year-old trainer stressed the quality of his work should not be solely measured by winning cups.

Although Bayern expects titles "but if the club thinks our work is superb and identifies itself with our jointly defined philosophy, then it will be a successful season," added Klinsmann who also played for Bayern from 1995-97.

In a first major test ahead of the start of the new Bundesliga season, Klinsmann's Bayern lost 2-1 to Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund Wednesday evening in the German Super Cup final.
