3rd int'l short films festival to be held in Tabriz

Iran-Tabriz-Film Fest
Third International Short Films Festival titled 'Mercy' will be held in Tabriz from November 3-6.

Announcing this, director general of East Azarbaijan Culture and Islamic Guidance Department Ahmad Ahmadi-Manesh said that the event will be held in the two national and international sections featuring narrative, documentary and animated films as well as clips.

The topics for discussion at the festival include the role of religion and spirituality in human relations and Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) lifestyle, he said.

The Islamic Revolution and role of the late Imam Khomeini, founder of Islamic Revolution, in its victory, the Islamic Revolution and its role in the Iranians' dignity and Imam Khomeini's social and political life are among other subjects to be brought up during the festival.

Ahmadi-Manesh also said that selected films at the Iranian and foreign festivals will be featured at the peripheral section of the event.

The entries at the national section should be produced in the second half of last Iranian calendar year while those at the international section should be made after 2006, he said.

Deadline for submitting works to the secretariat of the festival is October 6.
