Jr. Shajarian's independent concert in Aug.

Iran-Shajarian-Concert
First independent concert by Homayoun Shajarian, noted traditional vocalist, will be held to the accompaniment of the Dastan Band in Vahdat Hall, Tehran, on August 21-25.

This is the first concert to be undertaken by the junior Shajarian ithout the involvement of his father, Mohammad Reza Shajarian, an minent Iranian singer.

Saeed Faraj-Kouhi, a composer, said that the event will be held in two sections of Dashti and Isfahan to be accompanied by Majid Motabassem, Hossein Behrouzi and he himself as composers.

The first section will feature poems by Mohammad Reza
Shafiei-Kadkanai, Rumi and probably by Sa'di while poems by Hafez, Attar Neishabouri and Fereydoun Moshiri will be performed in the second section.

Shajarian also said that an album of a concert should be released before its performance so that the public will get familiar with the type of work.

Commenting on a concert on the works of Abdeqader Maraghi, noted musician in the eighth and ninth centuries AH, he also said, "We are waiting for the release of an album to get the public acquainted with is works and then perform a concert to that effect."
Referring to his cooperation with his father, he further said that he held a concert recently with his father in the US and will perform two concerts in Iraq's Kurdistan in the coming week.
