Iran-Relief Worker Day
A plan to designate the anniversary of the birth of Imam Ali (AS), the first Imam of the infallible household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as relief workers' day was presented to General Culture Council for inclusion on the official national calendar.

According to Social Welfare Organization's website, the institute's advisor for social affairs, Parviz Zarei said that the reason for the proposal is that relief workers take cue from Imam Ali (AS) in their activities.

He also said that a proposal to set up 'social relief workers organization' will be discussed in the Scientific Professional Congress on 50 Years of Social Relief Workers in Iran slated for July 14-15.

He hoped that the idea will be materialized in the current year.

Zarei further said that Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has underlined that the legislature will extend necessary cooperation with relief workers' institutes.
