ICRO head in China for cultural talks

Head of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Mehdi Mostafavi arrived here on Thursday.

Mostafavi and his entourage were welcomed at Beijing's airport by a number of Chinese cultural officials, Iran's Ambassador to China Javad Mansouri and cultural attache Mohammad-Javad Aghajari.

He is in china at the invitation of the Chinese Minister of Culture Cai Wu to discuss Tehran-Beijing cultural relations and cooperation.

Mostafavi, also an advisor to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is scheduled to hold talks with major Muslim figures of China, attend an inaugural ceremony for a cultural exhibition and meet with Chinese authors, artists and academics during his visit.

The Iranian official is also expected to meet with students and professors of Farsi language at Beijing's University.

Several agreements on cultural exchanges are also expected to be signed by the Iranian and Chinese officials.
