Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance on Wednesday banned advertisement through the overseas satellite TVs.

The ministry's public relations department official said that those networks were "working without permission from the Iranian related bodies", so that their activities and advertisement on those networks "are illegal and invalid."
Ali-Reza Karimi added activities of those networks inflicted heavy damage on Iranian citizens as many of those ads carried untrue stories because there was no control on their publishers.

Karimi said that many beauty saloons or other similar institutes that broadcast advertisement on foreign-based satellite TVs, have so far, been "identified and confronted" within the past few months with the help of Iran's police.
