Oman-Motahhari
Teacher's Day which marks the martyrdom of noted scholar Ayatollah Morteza Motahari was observed at the Iranian Embassy in Muscat, Oman, on Sunday.

The event was attended by Iranian Ambassador to Muscat Morteza Rahimi and a group of Iranians residing in Oman.

Motahari, a renowned writer, teacher and a man who devoted his life to opening up and writing about Islamic teaching, wrote several books on Islam, Iran and historical topics.

Iranian observe 'Teachers Day' on Ordibehesht 12 of the Iranian calender (which this year fell on May 1) in memory of Ayatollah Motahari who was martyred on the same day in 1980.
